My Why...

In 2020, I became a certified instructor with the desire to make a meaningful impact in my community. This was the year of the pandemic, with COVID-19 at its peak. I have always been passionate about educating others, and as I researched the long-term effects of COVID-19, I discovered its impact ranges from neurological issues and chest pains to digestive complications. I also delved deeper into cardiac issues, comparing their prevalence in adults versus children and young adults.

As society evolves, I’ve observed an alarming trend: more children and young athletes are experiencing cardiac conditions. For example:

  • Eric Lonwick – Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome

  • Jaden Blackwell – Enlarged Heart

  • Jake West – Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy (ARVC)

In my home state of Louisiana, the tragedy hits close to home. Burke Cobb, a 14-year-old, passed away due to Sudden Cardiac Arrest. Despite 25 bystanders in the gym, no one knew how to perform CPR. On August 24th, a Dutchtown Middle School student collapsed and died during agility warmups in PE class.

Thankfully, Louisiana now mandates that all high school students learn CPR. This inspired me to take action and educate others. By training individuals in CPR, I aim to not only impact my community but to expand my efforts regionally. My goal is to educate kids, young adults, laypeople, and medical professionals on CPR and demonstrate the life-changing impact of "Saving One Life at a Time."

To further this mission, we’ve created a coloring book for kids as a unique way to raise awareness about CPR. This serves as both an educational tool and a fundraising project. When you purchase a coloring book, 50% of the proceeds go toward covering the cost of CPR/AED provider cards for youth. Additionally, we plan to partner with other foundations to fund the purchase of AEDs for schools, playgrounds, offices, daycare centers, clinics, and other places of business.

Together, we can make a difference—one life at a time.
